How to play

Objective

Both players are attempting to craft the highest scoring poker-style hand, from the cards they get during the game.

Sequence

• Each player plays 2 rounds of "Cake Cutting" (see below), alternating until 4 rounds have been played.
• Each player makes the best hand they can, from the cards they have collected

Cake Cutting round

This is the sequence of a round of "Cake Cutting"

• Player A draws cards from the deck
• Player A splits the cards into two face-up piles, of at least one card
• Player B selects the pile they would like, and adds it to their hand
• Player A takes the remaining pile

Scoring

The game uses standard poker hands, with the addition of 5-of-a-kind at the top of the list. Click the [HANDS] button to the right for a pop-out reference.

If there are matching hands played by players, the high (scoring) card decides the winner. If both players have the same high card, the game is a draw!

Deck notes

The deck is comprised of 50 cards, of 4 suits (Vanilla, Jam, Chocolate, Almond)

• 4x 11 cards numbered 2-12, one number of each suit
• 3x 1 of Vanilla/Jam (counts as both Vanilla and Jam)
• 3x 1 of Chocolate/Almond (counts as both Chocolate and Almond)
